A Family Afternoon
100% of photos are silent.
They capture what something looked like but are unable to share context and meaning. What happened before, during, and after the shot? Who was there and why?
Why photos fall short
People have always tried to fix this. They attempt to add context with written captions. But written captions are short and flat and many of the best stories are never written down.
The shift
From the Kodak Moment to a Voiced MomentKodak taught us to treasure the snapshot. Voice Moments preserves what it leaves out — the voices and memories behind every photo.
The breakthrough
Multiple voice captions on one photoVoice adds texture, tone and emotion to a special photo moment. Creating voice captions is fast and easy and most people are better talkers than writers. When multiple people add their spoken perspectives to the same photo, one memory sparks another and a silent photo becomes a layered, narrated story.
The hidden stories behind family photos —
waiting to be heard.
100% of photos are silent. You are not alone in feeling this.
“I wish I knew what grandma sounded like. Did she have an accent? I have tons of photos of her, but sadly we never met.”
“I regret never asking my great-grandparents about the stories behind the photos of when they came to America.”
“I wish I saved the voicemail of dad singing to me. It's one of the last times I heard his voice.”
“I want my great-grandchildren to hear me telling the story of my Navy deployment during the Cuban Missile Crisis — in my voice, not secondhand.”
Every voice adds perspective.
Different perspectives. Shared memory, tone and emotion.
Seeing a photograph triggers a different memory in each person who looks at it. The full context of that moment lives across the perspectives of everyone who was there. Voice Moments lets family, friends, classmates, and others add their unique voices and perspectives to the same photo creating a singular Voiced Moment with depth, insight and emotion that can be viewed, listened to and learned from today and for future generations.
The grandmother experienced that kitchen moment as a cook, a mother, a keeper of something sacred. Her daughter experienced it as a child watching, learning, feeling loved. Her grandchild experienced it as a memory of warmth before they had words for it. Three people. Three hidden stories. One silent photo.

Why VoiceMoments exists
The voice I almost didn't save.
My grandfather Alfred had a way of filling a room with stories and jokes. Before that voice was gone, I sat down with an old recorder and captured him telling them in his own voice — his timing, his laugh, his spirit.
Later, after grandpa was gone, my grandmother who was sitting in another room, heard me listening to that recording, and called out his name as if he were right there again. That moment made something clear: photos preserve what we see, but the voices of people we care about preserve what we feel.
"Alfred, is that you?"
The most meaningful memories rarely belong to just one person. That is why we built Voice Moments — so one photo can hold many voices, memories, and perspectives, turning a silent image into a treasured Voiced Moment.
A voice preserved doesn't just preserve a memory. It keeps that person alive. Their spirit. Their soul. Their presence — still speaking to anyone who presses play.
